Product Review: Ozeri Weightmaster Scale

I originally reviewed this product with a full editorial about my personal thoughts on scales in general. But I loved the article a lot and wanted both the review and the editorial to have their own place. So I split them. This is the review. Enjoy :)

The product itself works fabulously. If you need a new scale, I will greatly recommend this one. It was sent to us for review and I very much love it.

We had a bit of a hiccup with programming it, because it’s VERY touchy when it’s registering your initial weight. But we set up two users, one for both Nick & myself. It took about a week of trying a few times a day to get it to register Nick’s weight, because it won’t set a user until it stops on a weight and stays there for at least 10-15 seconds. His kept going up 0.2 and down 0.2. It was pretty frustrating.

The Ozeri WeightMaster weighs up to 400 lbs and displays your BMI (which only measures your body weight & height to tell you how much fat you have and never takes into consideration muscle mass.) If you weigh yourself every day, it becomes a tool that can tell you quickly if you’ve gained or lost weight since yesterday, because it also compares it to three days (three weights) ago and 7 days, or weights, ago. It turns green or red with each measurement, signifying if it’s a loss (green) or gain (red.) It’s very handy if you need to do comparisons on a very strict diet or body building regiment. It auto calibrates so that you can simply step on and it recognizes who you are based on your weight. It does not, however, recognize the 10 pound cat.

Overall, I loved what this scale can do. I loved how fancy and easy to use it is. What I mentioned in the editorial portions is that I definitely don’t love is the fact that it can easily cause you to body shame yourself for your eating and exercise choices. Please read the article fully to understand my beliefs on scales and numbers in weight loss.

If the one I linked above is currently out of stock, here’s another one they carry that after my detecting, seems to be comparable.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
